Title: The distribution amplitude of the eta-charm meson from lattice QCD
Abstract: Scattering processes are an essential tool for experiment. Looking at Compton scattering, for instance, the electron probe interacts with the target through photon exchange. When the target is not fundamental itself, like a hadron, and the energy of the probing photon is high enough, the scattering process takes place through interaction with the elementary constituents of the target, adding an extra layer of complexity. In this scenario, one needs to understand how the energy, momentum, and particles themselves distribute inside the target. In this talk, I present our recent determination of the eta-charm distribution amplitude, which encodes the parton momentum distribution along the direction of movement for this pseudo-scalar charmonium. I explain how to use lattice QCD simulations to predict this non-perturbative quantity, and what are the systematics in the analysis. Furthermore, I compare our results to the predictions given by two popular alternatives: Dyson-Schwinger equations and non-relativistic QCD. This study is a simpler scenario to develop our analysis techniques, which can then be applied to more pressing matters, like J/psi in deeply virtual meson production.
