Dear all,
On Wednesday, Sep 11th, at 1pm EDT, we will have a cake seminar given by Bheemsehan Gurjar of the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IITK) in CC F224/225 and on the Zoom for Government link:
https://jlab-org.zoomgov.com/j/1613333983?pwd=SGfUtHVXEEbno0VV1i5N9Zp2Ad6kbm.1
Please, see title and abstract of Bheemsehan's talk below.
Title: "Gluon distribution functions inside a proton"
Abstract: Understanding the spin and orbital angular momentum (OAM) structure of the proton through quark and gluon degrees of freedom is a critical challenge in probing the proton's internal dynamics. The three-dimensional internal structure of the proton relies heavily on the distribution functions of quarks and gluons (partons). In this talk, I will discuss the gluon spin and OAM contributions to the total proton spin by studying the the leading twist gluon transverse momentum distributions (TMDs), generalized parton distributions (GPDs) as well as the generalized transverse momentum distributions (GTMDs), using a light-front spectator model which is based on soft-wall AdS/QCD predictions.
Bio: Bheemsehan Gurjar is about to finish his PhD at the Department of Physics of the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IITK) India. He studies the three dimensional landscape of hadrons in terms of quarks and gluons degree of freedom by calculating distribution functions (PDFs, TMDs, GPDs) and Fragmentation Functions.
See you on Wednesday.
