Dear all,

On Monday, September 16th, 2024 at 9:00AM EDT, we will have a virtual seminar given by Jun Gao of Shanghai Jiao Tong University on the Zoom for Government link:

https://jlab-org.zoomgov.com/j/1605672157?pwd=qvdBn6hEExbmyB7DLuN78Sx44IRZYq.1

Please see below for the title and abstract.

Theory Seminar: September 16th, 9:00AM EDT (virtual)

Speaker: Jun Gao (Shanghai Jiao Tong University)

Title: Global analysis of fragmentation functions with high-precision data from the LHC

Abstract: Fragmentation functions (FFs) are essential non-perturbative QCD inputs for predicting hadron production cross sections in high-energy scatterings. In this talk, we present a new framework on global analysis of collinear FFs of light hadrons, incorporating especially recent calculations and measurements on hadron production at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). We show various applications of the resulting FFs (NPC23), including a test of momentum-sum rule, predictions on jet charges in proton-proton collisions, and predictions on reference cross sections of hadron production in heavy-ion collisions. Future development of the NPC FFs will also be discussed briefly.

See you on Monday.

Best regards,
Caroline, Joe, Zheng-Yang, and Gloria
