Theory Seminar: March 10th, 1pm EDT (hybrid)

Speaker: Yuchuan Feng (George Washington University)

Title: Progress in Coupled-Channel Three-Body Scattering

Abstract: Including three-body dynamics above threshold is required for the reliable extraction of many amplitudes and resonances from experiment and lattice QCD. The S-matrix principle of unitarity can be used to construct amplitudes for three-particle scattering, rearranging two-body subsystems by particle exchange. Our work presents a unitary coupled-channel method that includes pions and kaons, evaluated for the example of the a1(1260) system. The model contains two-body S- and P-wave subsystems (isobars) of all isospins. We evaluate and compare the production amplitudes for physical momenta with traditional isobar lineshapes to show coupled-channel and rescattering effects.

See you on Monday.

Best regards,

Joe, Zheng-Yang, and Gloria
