Cake Seminar: Wednesday, March 12th, 2025 at 1pm EDT

Speaker: Mischa Batelaan (W&M and JLab)

Title: Charmonium radiative decays in lattice QCD

Abstract: Radiative decays of charmonia provide a gluon-rich environment which is ideal for the production of hybrid mesons. Recent experimental results have indicated the possibility of hybrid mesons in such radiative decays of the J/psi. I will show some recent results of my work on lattice QCD calculations of J/psi radiative decays with the hadspec collaboration. We calculated form factors of the J/psi radiative decays to eta and to eta-prime, using optimized operators to properly distinguish between these two states.
