As some of you probably know, my wife Sara spent much of 2010 being treated for lymphoma which was diagnosed unexpectedly in the spring. She went through a course of chemo/immuno-therapy followed by radiation - this was not at all pleasant for her but she coped far better than I could imagine myself managing. Post-treatment scans show that the cancer took quite a beating from this scientific barrage and the prognosis is good.</div><div><br></div><div>This email is to request your help raising money to fund research to improve the treatments further. This is an area where active research really does make significant differences - targeted immunotherapy of the type Sara received did not exist 15 years ago and since its adoption survival rates for lymphoma have doubled, but are still far too low. </div><div>The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society funds this research into blood cancers and Sara (along with her workmate Andrea) is currently training to run the Virginia Beach half-marathon later this year as part of their 'Team in Training' fundraising operation. If you can, please donate at </div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Tahoma; font-size: 13px; "><a href="http://pages.teamintraining.org/va/rnrh11/undefeeted">http://pages.teamintraining.org/va/rnrh11/undefeeted</a></span></div><div>.</div><div><br></div><div>Thanks, and enjoy your summer,</div><div>Jo.</div></body></html>
