Title: The Rare Decay B —> Kll from Lattice QCD
Abstract: The rare decay B —> Kll (l = e, μ, or τ) is a potentially sensitive probe of new physics. I will outline the role played by lattice QCD in its study, then review the first unquenched lattice QCD calculation of the form factors needed for its description in and beyond the standard model. Using the form factors, several standard model predictions are made. Comparison with experiment reveals a 2.6σ tension.
