One of the clearest signatures of the formation of a QGP on a given collision is the suppression of high energy particles and jets (also known as jet quenching), due to the energy loss they experience while traversing the strongly interacting medium. In order to extract information about the properties of the plasma through these measurements, it becomes necessary to have a consistent theory for parton branching in the presence of a medium.
