Abstract:

In this seminar, I will first give a general overview of the procedure employed to extract unpolarised transverse-momentum-dependent (TMD) distributions from fits to experimental data. The possible theoretical frameworks
and the typical dataset, with particular emphasis on the treatment of the uncertainties, used in such fits will be discussed. I will then present the main results of the latest determinations of unpolarised TMD distributions, focusing on the description of
the most recent and precise datasets. Finally, I will give concluding remarks concerning possible implications of precise determinations of TMD distributions for the present LHC and the future EIC physics.
