overwhelming body of evidence has established quantum chromodynamics (QCD) as the underlying theory of the strong nuclear force. However, due to a mismatch between the fundamental fields of the theory (quarks and gluons) and the low-energy degrees of freedom
(hadrons), the extraction of ab-initio observables is challenging. Lattice QCD, which utilises importance sampling to numerically estimate Euclidean spacetime quantum path integrals, is a proven method for reliably determining the properties of QCD. The last
years have seen significant developments in methods relating two- and three-particle finite-volume energies to scattering observables. In this seminar, I will present my work on analytic expansions of these multi-hadron finite-volume energies, which provide
both useful insights and beneficial cross checks on more general methods.
