Hi,

  I understood that already, however, it was not clear to me that the 
numbers work out correctly. Did someone do a calculation?

  The pulsed mode reduces the average beam current, but there will still 
be a peak beam current. If you reduce the peak beam current to protect 
the detector, do you still have enough signal to do the monitoring?
