Dear TPE-ers,
Here is the charge to the committee. It went to an email address of
mine that died, so I only received it today from Mac.

Subject: TPE review
Dear committee members,
The review has been scheduled for Thursday May 27, 2010 starting 1pm in room
F224/225. Here is the tentative charge to the committee. Please comment.
Charge: Please assess the following aspects related to the readiness of TPE"
(1) Considering relevant factors, can the TPE experiment be ready for
installation during this summer down time, and is the allocated time of 6 weeks
sufficient to complete installation?
(2) Assess the progress made on the required increase in luminosity in
accordance with the proposed luminosity. From the test run a factor of about 25
was still needed to obtain the proposed luminosity.
(3) Have the shielding requirements been thoroughly studied and incorporated in
simulations? Has the current plan a high probability to achieve the required
luminosity?
(4) Assess the potential effect of the TPE experiment on the photon experiments
following TPE. This should include potential radiation damage to the tagger
equipment and to CLAS. If equipment has to be removed for TPE, assess the
effort needed to fully restore the operation for the photon experiments in Hall
B following TPE, such as HDIce and PRIMEX II.
(5) Provide your assessment of the urgency of the experiment to run earlier
than originally scheduled, in an effort to be competitive with other
experiments at Novosibirsk (already completed), and Olympus at DESY, planned
for running in 2012.
(6) Can the experiment gain in FOM if the 6 months downtime in 2011 can be
utilized for improved shielding or other measures, please specify.
(7) Assess other factors that you feel should be considered and may impact the
readiness of TPE or the timeliness of running TPE early.
