So, heads up - Thia is making two schedules, one for each scenario. I think she's also working on making a list prioritizing physics goals. The spokespeople will be receiving it soon.

Hi Nadia,
I think how to run with 10 weeks is the most important thing we might want to discuss, and that is also I hope all for experiments can prepare now before we discuss. Based on the guidance, we plan based on the worse scenario, which means that each experiment has to optimize the physics run goal w/ 50% less beam time. The lab will also try to complete the 10 week runs first and see if there is any extension.
So the homework before our discussion is how well we can do with 50% less beam time. How to optimize the experimental settings to gain the maximum run efficiency. How to spread these 10-weeks for commissioning, and different physics runs. And if there is any extension, how we can easily switch between different experiments so each experiment shares the reasonable additional time on top of this total 10-week running plan.
These will be not straightforward answers but we at least need to have our rough plans first before we discuss and even involve Thia or other people to the discussion.
Best Regards

Zhihong,
I'll be there for the duration of the Hall A/C meeting, and I think it might be a good idea to have a separate discussion. One thing for discussion (probably with Thia) is what we should plan for. The president's budget request provides for 10 weeks of running (?), but there's a very real possibility we'll be operating under a continuing resolution (16 weeks of running). Does it impact the runplan/schedule in any way? How?

Dear all,
There were few informal discussions about having a short Tritium
collaboration meeting during the Hall-A/C meeting in this June. Here I
would like to ask your opinions about having a formal meeting to
discussion the upcoming Tritium Run. I believe it is very important to
do so given that we might have to deal with much less run time. Here are
few items that I need your input before we call for a collaboration meeting:
A) When? Before or after the A/C Meeting (June 22-23, Thursday&Friday)
B) How long? Maybe a morning will be good?
C) Agenda?
D) How formal? (like do we just chat, or also invite "big-guys" from
the lab to join the discussion or not)
Here are few items that I suggest to think of, prepare and study first
before we have this meeting, so we can have a more effective discussions:
1) Making new Run Plans with new beam energy and less beam time for
all experiments, so everybody is "happy"
2) Optimizing commissioning run plan for multiple Tritium experiment
with limited time
3) A more serious discussion (or training?) on the Tritium target
system and safety, since all of us are about to deal with the Tritium soon.
4) What experimental issues we are having right now that we can fix in
the summer
5) What modifications we would like to have while we still have time,
such as triggers, target lists & collimators etc.
6) What we learn from the Argon Run and how to implement the
experience to our Tritium Run
7) Assigning resources&manpower effectively, such as on hardware
responsibilities, analysis tasks, etc.
Please feel free to modify or add more topics to discuss during the
meeting, and I strongly suggest that we do necessary homework before
having the discussion.
I am very looking forward to hearing inputs from you. Thank you for your
time.
