Dear Tritium collaborators,
We had a very successful run in Spring 2018 and collected beautiful data
for two and half experiments. Our Tritium collaboration members, in
particular our hard-working graduate students, had done wonderful jobs
to make sure everything runs smoothly. We had lots of "good" time
together in the counting, and lots of great moments will be remembered
for a long time. Many of us are currently busily working on the data
analysis of the new data, and some of students even start thinking about
graduation. It is a very excited moment and I understand that you are
all very busy.
HOWEVER, our Tritium-run is not done yet! We still have two Tritium
experiments to go in the next two months! The first experiment is the
SRC which is the thesis experiment of Shujie and Nathaly. Both of them
have been working very hard since the beginning of the Tritium-run, and
now finally they can collect their own data so they can also focus on
their data analysis and also image about graduation. Just like they have
been greatly supporting the data taking of the previous run, now they
also need your supports, as teammates and more!
We have 12+ smart graduate students plus postdocs who have been working
on the Tritium run group for many years together, and help each other to
take care of all subsystems since last November. All of our graduate
students are experts on dedicated subsystems and we really need your
expertise to make sure we can have another successful run, our last
Tritium run! We have new members joining us from the Hypernuclear
experiment but the manpower is still very limited. Compared with the
Spring run, we only have very small amount of people seating in the
daily run meeting or working in the Hall. That is a little bit sad ...
We are not only need lots of shift-workers to fill in so many empty
spots, but also need more student experts to continue maintaining
subsystems, monitoring the data taking and finish some commissioning
tasks. All subsystems are running great w/o major issues so far and you
won't spend too much time away from your analysis to help us monitor the
data.
Some of you have already sign up shifts which is highly appreciated.
However, I am sincerely asking you to help us more and also requesting
more Tritium-collaborators to help us. I personally very appreciate that
Evan and Florian are continuously taking much more responsibilities than
they should and leading students to prepare the runs, nearly 24 hours
per day! You guys are great!
We just stock lots of good food and snacks on the table in the counting
house (see Fig.1). The fancy coffee machine is still running and a whole
new bag of Starbucks coffee beam is in position. We just need our team
members to come back and help us to finish the Fall 2018 run. Highly
appreciate your continuously contribution!

Best Regards
