Hi Evan,

thank you very much. I'm sorry I didn't stay after lunch there.

Indeed, we don't need ADC and VETROC running at the same time.

Is the DecodeEel.C useless? I mean, with small changes?

Tomorrow (Wednesday) I'll go to JLab.

Thanks again

-Carlos

Subject: [Vetroc_daq_sbs] Progress with Bob Michaels

Hi all,

Excellent progress yesterday with Bob Micheals on the v792 ADC.

He set up a v792-only configuration (v792alone), and after some debugging, we are able to get sensible v792 readout data in the coda stream.

Next steps:
1- Verify ADC values and channel mapping by saturating one channel at a time with a gate signal.
2- Write simple decoder to generate ADC spectra for each channel
3- Re-implement pulse generator and re-align trigger and PMT pulse timing, check for PMT signals with HV scan (one PMT on at a time)
4- verify sensible ADC spectra from PMTs, perform gain-matching

Since we only need the ADC for gain-matching, we don't really need to be able to run the v792 and the VETROC at the same time (right?).

Therefore, after gain-matching, we can return to the VETROC/GTP configuration, and continue setting up for the cosmics test.

-Evan
