Hi folks,

-- SHIFTS --
Regarding shift-filling status. The online schedule is still looking
very thin. I know we are holding active a1n/d2n students in reserve for
now, but I do hope we can improve significantly.

Note that the RC can help support filling shifts if s/he is willing,
but it is 100% on us (Spokespeople and Collaboration) to drum up
collaborators. Please rattle your local cages for people.

-- RASTER update --
As far as the raster goes. I happened to be talking with Bill Gunning
this morning and got a brief update. They (Electronics Group) are
waiting for one newly purchased amplifier to arrive, but they do have
working older units, so there will be no hold up. The plan is to finish
installing hardware in the Hall this week so our folks (Mark J, I
guess?) can re-verify the raster pattern/coverage etc next week.

Here are and older list (about 10 days old) of items from Chris C and
Bill Gunning. It sounds like the initial test in the Hall noted for
for November 1 below is still generally on schedule. (That is a 'no
beam' test, just final installation and operations testing.)

Todo List from Chris C. (Oct 17):
  - New amplifiers have been installed in Hall C.

  - Open Items:

  1. Optimization tests in EEL109 continue with resonant chassis and·
     waveform generator

  2. Locate Agilent generator in Hall C counting house and configure·
     network connection

  3. BRMs are installed but need final calibration

  4. EPICS software is not complete, but is almost a copy of recent UITF·
     installation.

  5. Final update of setup procedure for MCC needs to be submitted.

We are planning an initial test in the Hall for 1-November and will·
  create a 'punch-list' until completion.
