I sent the plan for the gateways and nameservers a while ago. These systems have all been deployed and are either in the process of being cut-over to or being tested and configured. This brings all gateways and namservers up to RHEL 9 and solves the limit network space problem by the creation of a new network. We run the old systems in parallel for a while but then recycle them. Looking forward, here are the new nameservers and gateways.

Gateways:
========
cagw9 # Gateway for ACC Users
cagwhla9                       # Hall A Gateway to OPS
cagwhlb9                       # Hall B Gateway to OPS
cagwhlc9                       # Hall C Gateway to OPS
cagwhld9                       # Hall D Gateway to OPS
cagwlcls9                      # Gateway for LCLS
cagwops9 # OPS Gateway to HALLS
cagwrad9                      # Gateway for RadCon
cagwsite9                     # Gateway for Facilities/Site Signals
cagwspare9                  # Gateway for Testing
cagwts9 # Gateway for Test Stands

Nameservers:
===========
devns9 # CA Nameserver for DEV
opsns9                          # CA Nameserver

Subject: Channel Access Gateway and Nameserver Plans

I wanted to clue people into a plan Brad, Brian and I have been working on to migrate/update the Channel Access Servers to RHEL 9. The previous setup has worked very well except the network size as always a problem. We decided that we would create a new dedicated network to host both the gateways and nameservers. We can then deploy copies of all the systems as RHEL 9 nodes and perform the migration piecemeal or however we wish. Parallel production will provide the maximum flexibility.

This is the new Channel Access Network
--------------------------------------------------------------------

         netname         =>  canet
         netnumber     =>  129.57.235.0
         gateway          =>  129.57.235.1
         mask               =>  255.255.255.0
         cidr                  =>  24
         hexmask          =>  0Xffffff00
         broadcast        =>  129.57.235.255
         domain           =>  acc.jlab.org
         vlan                 =>  235
         comment    =>  Channel Access Network

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Here are the old vs new IPs. These were kept as the same last addresses for ease of transition. cagwspare was renamed for it's function (it is a second hall D gateway) and given a new IP. So, for example, cagw and cagw9 will run in parallel production until everything has been converted to look at cagw9. We would then decommission cagw and make cagw a DNS alias for cagw9.

cagw                                                  129.57.255.4
