Anthony,
The systems weren’t rebuilt, but we had to update the RSA keys to make them larger. Many folks were having issues with the old RSA keys being too small and PuTTY was having issues connecting. This was particularly noticeable for folks using the remote access script that Marty wrote and delivered prior to the pandemic.

Subject: ssh keys for login.jlab.org
Kelvin,
It looks like the “login” systems were rebuilt during your maintenance period. The ssh keys are now different. This means that users will be asked to accept new ssh keys for login.jlab.org upon login. This might create a lot of SNs and questions. Do you think an email from CST would alleviate some of these or just cause more questions and confusion?
Thanks,
Anthony
