Subject: Updated Radiological Posting Conditions for Gun Test Stand (GTS) Area

Good afternoon,



Effective July 16, 2025, posting conditions for the Gun Test Stand (GTS) area have been updated. The entire GTS zone—including the upper control room, mezzanine, and lower-level mechanical room—is now designated as a **Radiologically Controlled Area (RCA) – Dosimetry Required**.

These changes are in preparation for upcoming operations involving elevated voltage (~200 keV) and current (2 mA).



Please ensure this information is communicated during Toolbox meetings and Pre-Job briefings.



Entry into any RCA requires the following:

- RW1 (Radiation Worker I) training

- Personal dosimeter

- OR participation in a JLAB tour with a trained escort and a Self-Reading Pocket Dosimeter (SRPD)
