Scattered severe weather across Hampton Roads, southern Virginia, and northeast North Carolina is expected this afternoon and evening, to include heavy rain, high winds, with a potential for isolated tornadoes and hail. Gusts are expected to be up to 60 mph. Please immediately tie down or secure loose equipment and materials in your outdoor JLab work areas. Peak activity is expected around the close of business. Contact your supervisor if it may affect your work schedule. Take extra care commuting from the lab. Practice safe driving in the rain: maintain a safe driving distance, avoid quick braking, and hydroplaning.
