Hi Raphael,
On your last comment, from my experience, measuring 100 um move is unrealistic to expect from such a survey. Your procedures for beam alignment should be such that it can accommodate 0.5 mm to 1 mm misalignment. Even with our liquid target cells that are much shorter and more rigid, we never could get a full acceptance of windows for beam. I do not remember what we had for Bonus run what was the beam aperture, maybe Mohammad remembers.

Hello Bob,
Thank you for providing the new procedures. They look very good. A couple a comments on the target installation and replacement procedure:
- Target initial installation should have a last step to remove the tooling support plate installed in step 2.
- For the target replacement, I think we should add a mention to the failed target procedure in the other document in the case of a failed target.
Following up on the pressure discussion, another couple of remarks.
- I think the repeatability test can indeed be done at a lower pressure (15psi is fine with me). The measurement that will be most important is the final one with cabling in place, which should be at 68psi.
- It would be useful to add a measurement without pressure as well at the end. This is because we will setup the beam position without the target pressurized in the beginning of the experiment. So if the target moves by more than 100µm sideways when pressurized that will be important to know for our commissioning.
Thanks
Raphael

Hi Bob,
Thanks for the update.
I have a few comments and questions regarding the Survey and Alignment Procedure:
- Is the "Target Location Repeatability" test performed after the full "Target Initial Installation" with leak check procedure? Previously we had done some survey steps before the leak check.
Yes, this is done after the leak checks are complete.
- For the "Leak Test after Installation into ALERT Detector", could we add on a measurement of the depressurization after a few hours? This might be useful to know later.
Yes, we can increase the leak down test to 3 hours after step 12.
- Is it possible to add to the Target Location Repeatability Test an initial measurement of the downstream window OD without the Target Support Block Halves in place yet?
No, the target droops too much without the support halves.
With and without pressure? I am curious how much movent occurs due to the Target Support Block Halves.
- I am concerned about the Target Location Repeatability tests being done without something protecting the HDC. Is there a difference between 15 psi and 68 psi in terms of straw deformation? Maybe adding a few more pressures between 0 and 68 psi to my previous suggestion would help answer that. That is, if the straw is as rigid at 15 psi as it is at 68, perhaps the repeatability tests only need to go 15 psi? (Note 15 psi is just a randomly chosen low pressure).
The request to survey under pressure came from the ALERT group. I will change the pressure to whatever is suggested by the ALERT group.
Regards,
Bob
Thanks,
Whit

Hello everyone,
I wanted to let you know that the team in JLab has repaired the broken
wire and cleaned up the chamber. All HV sectors were tested and all of
them reached 1800V with very low current. They will be reinstalling
everything in the coming days.
To discuss this and more, we will meet tomorrow at the usual time 9 am
(ANL) / 10 am (JLab) / 4 pm (IJCLab).
