Dear All,

Following up on today's meeting, regarding remote access to online stuff in Hall B ...

For EPICS read-only access by anyone in a web browser with only CUE authentication:

HallB:   https://hallbopi.jlab.org
Accelerator:   https://epicsweb.jlab.org

Note, Hall B's is a bit wonky, e.g., sometimes have to reload to get it to display, very browser-dependent rendering, but generally serves a good purpose.  One of the buttons in the top left can take you to the main menu (and then ->ALERT->...), but you can also save direct links, e.g.:  https://hallbopi.jlab.org/webopi3.3/w?opi=https://hallbopi.jlab.org/opis/detectors/ALERT/gas.opi

For full control for Hall B, there's 2 options, both requiring 2-factor authentication:

1. VNC w/ ssh tunneling
2. VDI 

Note, these tools are generally not used by the average collaborator, more by system experts, on-call folks, etc.  For remote shifts, we do use #1, and instructions are linked from RG-L's run wiki:  https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3906039.  However, for non-shift workers we should run a different server on a different port.   For #2, you need to be added to a special group.  Either way, if you're interested, please let me know and I can provide more guidance.
