All Staff and Users,

Restart your system Thursday, 7/14, morning before initiating work with 
your system to ensure that all patches and updates are fully installed. 
If your system has been off the network, in a sleep or hibernate mode, 
connect it to the network and restart.

For most staff and all users, general web access to the Internet is 
planned to be restored sometime Friday. In the meantime, you may 
continue to use the web proxy brought online earlier this week. The 
current web proxy has been configured for specific limited use of the 
Internet, and access requires a configuration change in your browser. 
Instructions for configuring your browser to work with the web proxy are 
at the URL: https://cc.jlab.org/proxysetup (requires log-on to view). 
Please continue to send additional mission-critical links to 
helpdesk at jlab.org <mailto:helpdesk at jlab.org>.

Access to additional Internet services to and from the lab, e.g. ssh 
outbound, ftp, etc., are being worked on but in some cases will take 
longer to restore. Time Collection and JLab Insight are already 
available from offsite, and the Hall web sites will be back online 
Thursday morning.
