A few phishing phone calls have been reported by JLab staff. This is a reminder that attempts to gain access to your JLab computer account are not limited to phishing emails. In this latest case, persons claiming to be Windows System Administrators are asking staff to visit an off-site web page and provide their username and password, so that the caller can fix the user's computer. Pay particular attention to where the call is coming from when you receive a call from someone claiming to be from the Helpdesk or IT Division. Helpdesk staff will never call you to request that you visit a non-JLab web site and input your username and password. If you have any doubt about the veracity of a request received over the phone, call the IT Division Helpdesk, x7155, to verify the legitimacy of the phone call before taking any action.
