Jefferson Lab e-mail accounts are currently receiving fake e-mails that claim to be from "Jefferson Labs IT Services." The e-mails assert that the password requirements for email access has changed and features a link for you to click to log in to your Webmail account. The link appears to be to a JLab address; however, the actual link does not direct your browser to Webmail.
These are "phishing" e-mails aimed at getting you to reveal your account information. Jefferson Lab's IT Division personnel will never ask you to reveal your account information by e-mail, by phone or by fax.
If you have received this suspicious e-mail, delete it immediately. If you have already responded to this e-mail or have other questions, contact the IT Division HelpDesk at x7155 or helpdesk at jlab.org.
