Colleagues,

Giving season is upon us once again.  Please join me in supporting our 
communities by donating to the annual United Way of the Virginia 
Peninsula campaign.  Every contribution to the United Way, no matter the 
sum, provides an array of critical services and supplies to those in 
need within our community. After-school programs, affordable daycare, 
transportation for the elderly, hospice care, job training for the less 
fortunate and even food and shelter are just some of the benefits that 
result from your donations.

JLab's pledge campaign kicks off on Friday, Oct. 2, with our annual 
fundraiser picnic scheduled for 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.  Hot dogs, 
hamburgers, veggie burgers, and assorted canned soda and chips will be 
available for $1 per item to raise money for the United Way and will be 
served by Lab senior management.  Once again, the food is being 
generously donated by our Quark Cafe contractor, Eurest. Additional food 
and beverage items will be available for regular purchase in Quark Cafe.

We also will sell $1 raffle tickets, from a table in the CEBAF Center 
lobby, during the picnic and during lunch time throughout the month of 
October for a chance to win one of three items: an Apple Watch, Apple 
iPad Mini, or a Fitbit!

The pledge form pdf link has been included at the end of this message 
for your convenience.  Additional physical forms will be available at 
the front desks of the SSC, TED, MCC, and CEBAF Center.  All forms 
should be returned to Krystina Serafini, Mail Stop 12B, CEBAF Center 
Room B214 by Monday, Nov. 2.

All proceeds from the ticket sales, as well as all picnic donations, 
will go to the United Way. The winning raffle tickets will be announced 
at the JAG Tailgate Party on Oct. 28.

Countless members of our community, along with many of our friends and 
family, have likely been assisted by United Way over the years. Please 
join me, this year's fundraising chairman, in making this our most 
successful campaign yet for United Way.
