[All_jlab_accounts] JLab central file server data backups scheduled due to HPC-2

In preparation for HPC-2, the IT Division is performing a backup of central file servers (/group - M:, /home - J:, /site - K: and /apps - L: ). This backup will then be stored on tape and moved to a safe storage location. 

The backup will begin Thursday evening, so you are encouraged to finalize data on the servers by COB Thursday . 

The IT Division also recommends that any critical data stored on your local Jefferson Lab system also be backed up, and Users that back up their own data are encouraged to make a new backup before they leave for the weekend. For small amounts of data, you may use /home by COB Thursday. Any large amounts of data should be stored on external media (USB, DVD, external hard drive, etc.), as you do for your routine backups.
