Jefferson Lab will participate in the Virginia Department of Emergency
Management's statewide tornado preparedness drill on Tuesday, March 15.

At 9:45 a.m., the National Weather Service will issue a warning tone,
which you can hear on a weather-alert radio (for the first time, this
tone will be the same tone alert that would be broadcast during an
actual tornado warning) and TV.

You also can listen for the warning on local radio stations that provide
live feeds over the Internet. The National Public Radio station,
WHRV-FM, is among those that will broadcast the signal. You can link to
NPR's live feed at:

At this site, click on the "Live Radio" tab and then click on the first
item in "Live Radio Streams," which is 89.5 WHRV-FM.

Jefferson Lab also will issue a warning at 9:45 a.m.over its sitewide
alert system, which will feed a text message to pagers and e-mail.

The drill will end at about 9:55 a.m.

drill can be found at:

Please check with your supervisor and co-workers to make sure you know
where the nearest shelter is located.
