[All_staff] Annual United Way Appeal Underway at JLab

  The United Way annual fund-raising campaign at Jefferson Lab is 
underway and will continue through Nov. 3. The lab's goal is 100 percent 
participation by staff. This is a great way to give back to our 
community, to help make our community a better place and to say "thank 
you" for the support this region has given to the lab over the years.

The United Way of the Virginia Peninsula partners with local businesses, 
municipalities, individuals and other non-profits in a community-wide 
fund-raising campaign that provides necessary resources to programs that 
address a broad range of community needs. Donations and pledges help 
fund programs that target everything from basic needs like food and 
shelter, to crisis and emergency response, after-school programs, 
affordable daycare, transportation for the elderly, job training for the 
disabled and much more.

Hard copy forms are available at the VARC, ARC and CEBAF Center front 
desks, as well as in Building 85 beginning today (Monday, Oct. 11). 
Please send or deliver completed forms to Joshua Cameron in CEBAF 
Center, Room B214, Mail Stop 12 B, by Wednesday, Nov. 3. Pledge forms 
may also be picked up at the United Way Raffle ticket sales table in the 
CEBAF Center lobby during lunch times.

The fund-raising effort kicked off Oct. 7 with the annual United Way 
picnic and raffle.  Raffle tickets will be sold in the CEBAF Center 
lobby from 12-1 p.m. each work day through Oct. 27. During the JLab 
Oktoberfest on Oct. 27, winning tickets for two 16-gigabyte iPads will 
be chosen at random. Winning one prize excludes an individual from 
winning another prize. Results will be announced by e-mail, and the 
winners will have until Nov. 3 to claim their prizes. All proceeds from 
the raffle ticket sales and the picnic will go to the United Way.
