[All_staff] 3:30pm Today Start of Retirement Celebration for Roy Whitney

Jefferson Lab's Chief Information Officer and Associate Director of the 
Information Technology Division, Roy Whitney, is retiring. Roy's career 
and accomplishments will be celebrated during a ceremony and reception 
today, Friday, Aug. 1, beginning at 3:30 p.m. in the CEBAF Center 
atrium. The event is open to the lab community.

Roy was among the very first employees at the lab.He was a member of the 
first Users Group Board of Directors in 1984-1985 and continued to serve 
on the committee until 1997-1998.He has served the lab as the head of 
the Administration Division, Chief Information Officer, Associate 
Director of the Information Technology Division and as the lab's Chief 
Technology Officer.

Please join the lab community in thanking Roy for his decades of service 
to the lab and in wishing him well on his future endeavors.
