Dear National Laboratory Directors and Chief Operating Officers,

Thank you for welcoming me to the Department over the past month. If 
I've observed one thing since I was confirmed as Under Secretary for 
Science and Energy in December, it's that the American people employ 
some of the best scientists and researchers to solve the very complex 
energy challenges of our time. Together, I'd like to take stock of our 
accomplishments in Science and Energy and look forward to the year ahead.

To do this, I will be holding the second annual Science and Energy Town 
Hall Meeting on February 9th, 2015, in the Forrestal Large Auditorium 
from 2:00 – 3:30pm EST. In addition to hearing from the S4 Assistant 
Secretaries, we will be joined by Secretary Moniz and Dr. John Deutch in 
a fireside chat on the future of the energy landscape. Please find the 
detailed agenda attached.

A live stream of the program will be available at 
http://www.energy.gov/science-energy-town-hall. Please distribute this 
information to your National Laboratory staff.

We welcome questions you and your staff may have for the speakers ahead
