Dear Bonusites and (hopefully) interested parties,

our 2014 "BONuS Workfest" will take place as scheduled THIS FRIDAY, July 25, starting at 11:00 a.m., in room L102 CEBAF Center. You can find the up-to-date agenda (as always) by going to the wiki at
https://clasweb.jlab.org/rungroups/bonus/wiki/
and clicking on "Meeting Agendas and Minutes" and then the date. It is also reproduced below - please note that some talks have been slightly reshuffled. Let me know immediately if there is a conflict that we need to solve.

As you can see, so far nobody has volunteered to give a presentation during the first 1 1/2 hours - please let me know if you are willing to do that. Otherwise, we will review the various options we talked about at the last meeting and, most importantly, form a group that will explore these options more in depth. Please come prepared to give us your ideas and to tell us whether
a) you are interested to join the recoil detector R&D effort
b) what kind of experience/expertise you have
c) whether you have access to lab space, relevant parts and electronics, and
d) manpower (students, postdocs, technicians, other senior personnel)
Hopefully we can come up with a realistic plan that will lead us to a decision which direction to pursue within the next 6-12 months.

For the afternoon session, I ask all speakers to post their presentation somewhere on the web and link it to the agenda (or tell me where it is) ahead of time (Friday morning at the latest) so things will go smoothly and to make the talks available to people who cannot attend on Friday.

You can attend the meeting from off-site using BlueJeans - the instructions are also repeated below.
Looking forward to seeing you on Friday - Sebastian

[edit]Dial-in instructions

We will use the Bluejeans videoconferencing software. The ESNet "READYTALK" system we have been using so far will be phased out and will no longer be supported after August 1st. Here are the instructions:
1) For full multi-media access, enter in your web browser the following URL: https://bluejeans.com/7576835804. You will be asked whether you want to login or just join as a participant. Choose "participant" and follow the on-screen instructions (you may be asked to download a browser extension when you use Bluejeans for the first time). You should see images from other participants and hear sound on your computer's loudspeakers. If you have a video camera (built-in or hooked up to your computer), others will be able to see you. You must have a microphone (built in or hooked up to your computer) to communicate. Ideally, you should use headphones (with integrated mike if possible) to reduce feedback; alternatively, you can mute yourself when you are not talking. There is even an iPhone and Android app if you want to participate by tablet/smartphone… ;-)
2) If this sounds all too complex, it should still be possible to dial in.
The new phone nr. is 1-888-240-2560
The new meeting ID is 7576835804 (my ODU office phone nr). You enter this after the prompt, followed by the "#" sign, and after the 2nd prompt, press "#" again. That's it - you should be able to talk and hear us as usual; however, you won't see video and shared desktop.
