Dear TDIS and BONuS collaborators,
I would like to add to Thia’s email below and once again remind you of our meeting next Monday. However, there is one change: The Bluejeans connection will use the standard BONuS meeting ID 757 683 5804 - see the full instructions below. If you are giving a presentation remotely, please make sure you have a computer connection to Bluejeans that allows you to share your screen. Also, I am asking all presenters to send me their presentations as soon as possible (or share with a thumb drive) - with your permission, they will be posted for perusal by our collaborations.
In addition to the link provided by Thia for registration and the program, there is also the following Wiki page for our meeting:
https://clasweb.jlab.org/rungroups/bonus/wiki/index.php/Joint_BONuS12/TDIS_meeting <https://clasweb.jlab.org/rungroups/bonus/wiki/index.php/Joint_BONuS12/TDIS_meeting>
This is where we will post talks and other information.
Looking forward to seeing you on Monday - either in person or on screen. - Sebastian
Dial-in instructions
We use the Bluejeans <https://cc.jlab.org/bluejeans> videoconferencing software.
1) For full multi-media access, enter in your web browser (*) the following URL: https://bluejeans.com/7576835804 <https://bluejeans.com/7576835804>, or connect directly through the BlueJeans app. (Most likely, your web browser will forward you to the app anyway - see below (*); you will be asked to download the app when you use Bluejeans for the first time). You will be asked whether you want to login or just join as a participant. Choose "participant" and follow the on-screen instructions. You should see images from other participants and hear sound on your computer's loudspeakers. If you have a video camera (built-in or hooked up to your computer), others will be able to see you. You can share your screen or specific applications with the rest of the audience and see screens shared by others. You must have a microphone (built in or hooked up to your computer) to communicate. Ideally, you should use headphones (with integrated mike if possible) to reduce feedback; alternatively, you can mute your microphone when you are not talking. You may also dial in by phone (see below) in addition to using your computer, just for the sound. Make sure you mute both loudspeakers and (if present) microphone on your computer in that case to avoid feedback. There is even an iPhone and Android app if you want to participate by tablet/smartphone… ;-)
(*) Note: Apparently, BlueJeans is ending support for all browsers BUT Google Chrome! See for more information <https://bluejeans.secure.force.com/KnowledgeSearch/articles/Knowledge_Base/FAQ-for-Sunsetting-Browser-Plugin>. So, starting immediately, your only option is to use Chrome or the stand-alone App. Or you can just use the phone - see below.
2) If this sounds all too complex, it is possible to dial in.
The phone nr. is 1-888-240-2560
The meeting ID is 7576835804 (Sebastian's ODU office phone nr). You enter this after the prompt, followed by the "#" sign, and after the 2nd prompt, press "#" again. That's it - you should be able to talk and hear us as usual; however, you won't see video and shared desktop.
