[Bonuslist] Daily RC Report August 18th, 2020

Hi All,

this is the status and report of the BONuS experiment (Run Group F), Monday, August 17th, 2020

It was a good week, this day imbalance the past goodness.

  *   OWL:
     *   ~2:40 IOC lost communication with PCAL and FTOF. Rebooting allowed to recover PCAL but not FTOF.
        *   Nathan B. was called and later Jose C. (TOF expert) was also contacted.
        *   After unsuccessful attempts to recover FTOF sector 2, I was called ~3:30 and presented two alternatives
           *   call Daniel C., access the hall, and replace the broken board which could take up to 2 hours.
           *   continue taking data knowing the scheduled beam down period at 8:00
           *   I decided to continue with the data collection and call Daniel C. before the OPS meeting
        *   ~6:00 Daniel C. call me to enter the hall and proceed with the task due to other responsibilities
        *   Finished the work at 7:00 https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3829751
  *   DAY:
     *   It was a scheduled beam down period
        *   we requested to examine and repair the possible source of beam leaks into the hall
     *   DAQ configuration changed without the FT:
        *   PROD66
        *   rgf_inbending_v4_1.trg
     *   ~13:50 beam is back, so we proceed to tune the beam as instructed by Sebastian
        *   beam to the Faraday cup
        *   harp scans
        *   once is acceptable, we continued with the program
     *   problems at the RICH recovery
        *   it is mainly blamed to the lack/unknown documentation
        *   solved by Sergey B. during swing
  *   SWING:
     *   started to take data ~16:50
     *   the BPM alarms were bey often, probably to overshooting of the beam current ramping up after a beam trip. It was requested to increase the ramping up period. It showed an improvement in beam quality
     *   the bleed through suggested to do after the beam recovery was not done. Sebastian noticed that the rates in several beam monitors keep high in comparison with previous runs.
        *   After consulting the PD, we proceeded with the bleed thorough test. It showed negative results  https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3830200
     *   The rest of the shift was kinda smooth

TOTAL NUMBER OF EVENTS THIS DAY: 60M

This is my last Daily Report for this period. It was an honor to be somehow useful to the BONuS experiment and represent the CLAS12 collaboration.
