Hi All,

this is the status and report of the BONuS experiment (Run Group F), Monday, August 17th, 2020

What was expected and apparently it was going to be a quiet day in a beautiful sunny day, became a bit hellish during the afternoon.

  *   OWL:
     *   a very quiet shift
     *   37.1M events collected
  *   DAY:
     *   beam current ramping increased
     * from Yuri G. "beam quality for the recent runs is worse than for the reference run 12521 (low occupancy peak dominates the signal peak)"
     *   Raffaella D. recompiled clas12mon
     *   37.48M events collected
  *   SWING:
     * there was a concern about the increase of event rate (of the order ~20%) with the same current (200nA). ~18:10
        * Sebastian K. suggested to do a harp scan to check the beam profile --> it shows similar reference spectra.
     * In order to find out the origin of such increase, we turn off the Hall B laser and monitor the BOM observing bleedtrough from the injector and the separation of beams in the other halls.
        * From Jerry G. "Eugene P. noticed the increased event rate started last night about midnight."
        * Different attempts to improve the separation between Hall B and C were unsuccessful
        * Reducing the opening of the slits and increase current from injector also failed.
        * Since tomorrow was planned to tune the source, it was decided to continue as it is.
        *   https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3829516
     * returning to data acquisition ~21:30
     *   29.4M events collected

TOTAL NUMBER OF EVENTS THIS DAY: 66.78M

Beam will be off tomorrow morning at 7:45 to allow reduce the radiation in the air, mainly in Hall A. It is IN PRINCIPLE a beam down period of 4 hours. I will recall in the MCC meeting the need to study and solve the bleedthrough issue. I didn't get any notification for access to the hall, so I guess nobody is interested to do it. In case a sudden case of access the hall appears, please note that we are the last of the list https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3829470. <https://wiki.jlab.org/clas12-run/index.php/Run_Group_F#Schedule>

I created a spreasheet to fill the number of event per shift. Since the shift workers are already indicating the number of events with the number of run (among more information) I am just couting the number of events. Nevertheless, I undestand that anybody with good knowledge of python can reach that number from RCDB (sql). https://wiki.jlab.org/clas12-run/index.php/Run_Group_F#Schedule

Tomorrow seems to be an interesting day
