In http://www.jlab.org/~benesch/ you will find two files HallA*Moller*
and one file PREX_optics.doc. I presented the ppt file to the local
Hall A meeting this afternoon. I will present it to the MOLLER
collaboration Dec. 4 and the full hall A collaboration Dec. 15.
Comments solicited.

While discussing combined optics at 11 GeV for high current Moller
polarimetry I was informed that PREX plans to do high current Moller
polarimetry next spring. I was surprised. I was also told that the
spot at the Compton interaction point should have sigma ~50 microns in
both planes.

I found my 2003 combined optics file, the basis of the MST Moller Optics
functionality, for 1100 MeV. The vertical sigma in the Compton was ~100
microns including dispersion so I had to adjust the upstream vertical
focusing quad MQA1C19. This means a special file must be created for
PREX since MST changes only the last six quads, 1H01 through 1H04A.
Optim results are in PREX_optics.doc, mentioned above.

Optim file is in O:\optim\jfbwork\myopt\CurrentOpt\HallA_comb_new
Unix path
/a/opsdata/optics/optim/jfbwork/myopt/CurrentOpt/HallA_comb_new .

Optim file is halla_4P_1100prex_moel_2Q.opt. I did all of these at
fourth pass because it doesn't matter: the optics at the start of the
hall arc is the same for all passes and MST changes only the last six
quads for Moller optics. If you can do a better job than I adjusting
only MQA1H01, MQA1H04 and MQA1H04A, be my guest.

Jay
