[Bteam] rough list of startup work

Hi Folks,

That's a nice plan. We're making good progress - first beam all the way
through the new beam line last night (ELOG for details) and much of the
usual "hot checkout" both without & with beam behind us. The next
~couple weeks will continue - as Jay's schedule shows - setting up the
injector front end, calibrating the new spin rotators, producing a high
current PQB setup. This is our top priority.

We envisioned running the gun to higher voltage this shutdown, but are
awaiting a new high voltage switch tank before proceeding with the
tunnel gun. We have learned that our present high voltage "splice" is
susceptible to break down and a similar failure will complicate and
delay our CEBAF plans. We do however continue to test our "spare"
inverted gun to higher voltage in the Test Cave.

Regarding Ops training: I expect that during the next ~couple weeks
we'll be defining and fine tuning screens, procedures and calibration
data. I will be giving the OPS training for the new injector on Feb.
24th - and will explain the purpose and functionality of the new beam
line. By that time it should be possible to refine the training
procedure. One aim of the new beam line is to make it functional &
pragmatic - so that the more sophisticated spin rotator system actually
might be easier to use/control from an operations perspective compared
to the previous beam line. Time will tell...

Finally, John Musson tells me yesterday that he anticipates providing a
beat frequency modulator (BFM) a.k.a. 31MHz CW beam for laser bench
testing "soon". Once it is ready we can schedule time for installation
and beam testing. Add 4 hours for each iteration.
