Hey BTeamers,
Here are notes from the 8 Sep 2011 BTeam meeting. I'm still writing up the
ones from the 13 Sep 2011 meeting. There WILL be a BTeam meeting this morning
at 11 AM in MCC to show off the wiki and discuss recent schedule changes etc.
I also have a modest box of first-come first-serve cookies. See you there!

BTeam meeting notes: Thu 8 Sep 2011
Attendees: Jay Benesch, Ryan Bodenstein, Arne Freyberger, Alicia
Hofler, Reza Kazimi, Geoff Krafft, Rui Li, Fanglei Lin, Vasiliy
Morozov, Ed Nissen, Todd Satogata, Ilkyoung Shin, Balsa Terzic, Mike
Tiefenback, Yan Wang, Yuhong Zhang
(*) BTeam Wiki
- The BTeam wiki is being resurrected at
https://devweb.acc.jlab.org/twiki/bin/view/BTeam/WebHome
Mike McCaughan is also developing a new BTeam home page, though it is still
in flux while we sort out file access/ownership permissions.
(*) CASA Startup List
- Todd presented the list of items and CASA assignments for 6M SAD startup.
- This list is also on the BTeam Wiki under
https://devweb.acc.jlab.org/twiki/bin/view/BTeam/6MSadFiles
along with a link to Arne's restoration calendar and Ron's restart concern
list from the Aug 31 operations restart review.
(*) MO, MOMOD
- Geoff and Tief reported on the latest on MO, MOMOD
- There is a new MOMOD document to Geoff from Arne and Tief
- There will be a CASA group discussion meeting 12 Sep 2011
- The 12 GeV dogleg spec has been delivered to Harwood, with must/want lists.
- Calibrations depend on current, which can be challenging; MOMOD procedure must
be precise with regards to beam conditions. Arne notes that arc10 has no dogleg
for pathlength compensation; Jay notes that up to 1.8mm offset can be accepted
in the arc per discussions with Harwood as early as 2007.
* TODO: Dogleg calculator needs update.
(*) 45 MeV Spectrometer Recommission ATLis
- Yan showed the 45 MeV ATLis spectrometer magnet recommissioning ATLis
- There were relatively few comments except to discuss low energy setup and schedule
(*) Revising Low Energy Setup
- We will run even in low energy with all cavities crested. Michele notes that
Alicia has already written a procedure to change energy lock cavities in the
injector area if necessary.
* TODO: The low energy setup ATLis should be revised based on previous input
(I think Yan has done this as of 9/18/11)
* TODO: Reza will double-check for possible phase changes during injector low energy
setup
(*) Schedule update
- Arne notes that we may only be able to go to the 45 MeV dump, not the inline
dump, early in the schedule. This all depends on civil construction deadlines
which are weather dependent; there is also a delay bringing C100-2 into the
tunnel. C100-2 is due cold later this week.
- Jay notes that the tuners have some crosstalk in C100-1, and that we will not
run in a mode where all are on simutaneously due to cryo load.
Action items:
(*) Low energy setup
- Injector group/Yan: iterate low energy setup procedure
- Reza: check expected phase changes.
- Michele: develop a procedure for changing energy locks as the injector
group turn off cavities during setup. (Done; Alicia Hofler has written)
- Jay: develop a LEMi procedure change for the energy locks.
- Jay/Todd: look at the harp setup and provide Michele/HLA with additional
harp scan parameters for these new optics.
- Todd/Injector group: Meet re kinetic M56, bunch length/match issues.
- Todd/Tief: discuss methods to adjust/check M12 on fly with 1S fopt.
(*) Risk table
- All: Assign names to several items (e.g. scrapers)
- Geoff/Todd: Present CASA table at next BTeam meeting
- Integrate risk table tracking with CASA item tracking
