[Central_tracker] SVT electronics' location (L1 disconnect)

As per Amrit:

Our current information from the Mechanical group is that the upstream
end of the coldplate is at -337 mm from target center. Based on this:
level 1 disconnect for reg1 will start at -700 mm wrt target center
level 1 disconnect for reg2 will start at -670 mm wrt target center
level 1 disconnect for reg3 will start at -640 mm wrt target center

Cylinder 1, which attaches to coldplate, has a radius of 60 mm wrt
beamline and a length of 75 mm,
Cylinder 2, which attaches to cylinder 1, has a radius of 130 mm wrt
beamline, the length of which is irrelevant for the SVT.

Radially, all level 1 disconnects will start on cylinder 2.
For the L1C disconnects of the three regions,we estimate that we need 45
mm above the support tube, (cylinder 2). 45 mm gives 15 mm per L1C
disconnect. This space is required for PC board, connector, and clearance.
Originally, we were informed that the micromegas electronics would end
at a radius of 180 mm. We have worked hard to reduce our space
requirements to 175 mm radially.
If it is possible to extend cylinder 1 by ~290 mm, we could reduce our
radial requirements to a radius of 150 mm. This would also help the SVT
in that all electronics would be in the cylinder 1 well.

Hi Amrit

I need an answer on the Si interconnect boxes.
Please could you take care of this quickly for we cannot design µm
barrel connection.

Best
Stephan

Objet : Urgent: answer on Si interconnect boxes

Hi Amrit

Like we said in the last meeting we have a issue with the interconnect
boxes of the Si, it prevent us from connecting our first 3 µm layers and
also gives few space for the mechanics from our barrel tube to the
forward mechanics.
You explained that the Si cable length was around 500 mm.
At what distance can you move the Si interconnect boxes ?

Also we asked in the telephone meeting (11-9-2010) if the seize
(thickness) of the boxes where optimized.
They are actually drawn with 2 inch thick. Since each mm gain in the
boxes thickness is an extra mm for the µm electronic volume (this on all
the length) for forward (constrain by CTOF due to neutron guide) it is
important to optimize now the boxes volume.

We need those information to pursue the 3D design on the barrel.
Could you please check ASAP.
Thanks

Stephan
