Dear all,
A summary of the meeting / post-meeting discussion for those who could not
call in:
* Helicity T-settle gate was only 500 us (compared with T-settle at the
injector of 90 us) -- Stepan reduced it to 150 us, but warns that this
might not fix the issue that the last Møller measurement took a couple of
hours to converge to the large uncertainty of 2.2%. We will do another
Møller run when it's practical.
* Farm is overloaded, mostly with Hall D at the moment: our skim jobs for
TOF/HTCC calibration run 11019 are pending, so Aram is in parallel also
running them interactively. It will be a few more hours before they're
ready.
* Valery has finished debugging the trigger firmware (the missing u1
paddles from ECAL have been added) and the trigger files are ready for
validation and now also include DC roads.
* There was discussion of the very high electron rates which we observed
last night running with 50 and 40nA, and whether the cause is purely due to
switching from inbending to outbending or also due to something else. We
will study the rates after the trigger validation.
* Youri needs to do a series of short runs on the MVT to determine optimal
discriminator thresholds.
* Sergey has found that one of the MVT boards is taking a very long time to
process signals and that this is responsible for the low live-time (75%)
which we saw at high current yesterday. He's emailed Heracli.
* Rafo has updated FC beam blocker attenuation coefficients -- his
calibration study is in the log book:
https://logbooks.jlab.org/files/2019/12/3747119/Dec_05_2019.pdf
* MCC plan to finish RF stress test by end of day shift today. We will do
trigger validation as soon as TOF and HTCC calibration is ready, then MVT
runs for discriminator thresholds, then go to production running. In as
much as beam allows.
Thanks,
Daria
