Summary of last day (or so) (1/15/20)
We have lost beamtime over the last few days due to an overheating magnet in the accelerator caused by inadequate cooling. We lost beam on swing shift Sunday and returned to production running on owl Tuesday.
When beam came back we decided to move the beam current from 35 nA up to 45 nA. This change is based on (1) the analysis of the tracking efficiency (thanks to Stepan) during the last week which does not show compelling evidence that the tracking efficiency is not much worse than past runs despite the higher DC occupancies and (2) from Yuri's analysis which shows we can run the CVT at 40-45 nA.
We had a scheduled break in the beamtime when the Hall-C 1-pass run was completed during owl shift this morning. The Wien angle was returned to a previous setting. Beam is being tuned this very moment (Wed, 09:55) on the Faraday cup.
The reporting of the beam energy on the scalar gui has been fixed and now reads 10.4 GeV (instead of 10.2 GeV)..
Upcoming
Hall C: Will measure a series of polarizations for different Wien angles to
determine the position of the peak polarization.
Hall B: We will do our own Moller measurement during the Hall-C measurement,
then followed by an empty target run.
