Well, v48 lasted longer that I thought!

But now the long-awaited v49 is out! It has the feature that it will see
not just .hipo files, or .hippo files, but also .hipo.XYZ files, where XYZ
is the run number (or anything else)-- i.e., it accommodates Sergei's
naming scheme.

Now if you happen to name a file something like *myEvents.hipo.evio* and
try to open it with *ced*, then *ced* will make a valiant attempt to
connect to an SMTP server and send threatening emails to important people
in high places using your username. So don't do that.
