This is actually not a good idea. Turning off certificate checking is generally not preferred. Instead, you can update your systems to reflect our new root certificates. This actually is necessary on Firefox, etc. too, but these browsers generally make it easier to just ignore the errors.

Have a look at http://www.jlab.org/PKI, the page provides our current root cert and some instructions for popular browsers and other clients.
