Dear all
As you will be aware the resumption of CEBAF beam delivery is planned for 27 July and Hall-B will continue with RG-F until 6 September.
We are exercising a limited shift staffing plan as we had before the shutdown in March. We will have only shift experts present in the counting room during the day and swing shifts, from 7 am to 11 pm. The owl shift will be manned as per our COO, expert and a worker.
Following the call, 40 volunteers stepped forward to provide shift coverage during this period and myself, Stepan and Marco wish to thank them all.
If you are a shift taker/institute rep then please read on carefully.
The schedule has been published at the usual place https://www.jlab.org/Hall-B/shifts/ <https://www.jlab.org/Hall-B/shifts/>
The coverage is one block of 4 shifts for each volunteer plus some extras to fill all blocks.
Unlike the usual generator, shifts were assigned by named individual from the list however:
- this is not an (my) insistence that the person does that shift.Iit was simply to provide an initial coverage based on the list
- within an institute the particular person assigned to a block can be changed by the institute rep using the interface features
- individual shift qualifications are accounted for (expert/worker)
- Trades are open
— if a particular date range of a block or blocks are not suitable to the person or institute, then again you (institute rep or individual) can use the interface features to request a trade. Please remember that trades require acceptance from both parties.
- Swaps (unilateral changes) are not implemented. Given the exceptional circumstances and associated constraints, no assumptions regarding unilateral swaps would be appropriate.
- As always if you have any issues them do not hesitate to contact me
The names of the volunteers have been submitted to Physics Division by Marco for Access Approval. Please ensure that you are aware of special requirements and procedures for operating on-site at JLab and in the Counting House. Stepan is the PDL and will be happy to answer any questions you have or direct you to the relevant person as appropriate.
Again, thanks to our volunteers during these challenging times and please stay safe and well.
Regards
Bryan (Stepan and Marco)
