Dear Collaborators,
please share this announcement to all junior colleagues who may be
interested. Thank you!
Best regards,
Silvia

A two-years postdoctoral position will be available, starting from
September 1st 2023, at the Laboratoire Irène-Joliot Curie (IJCLab) in
Orsay, France. The hosting group in strongly involved in the
electron-scattering experiments carried out at Jefferson Lab (JLab, USA)
in the Halls A, B, and C, as well as in the preparation for the future
Electron-Ion Collider. The main interest of our researches is the study of
the multi-dimensional partonic structure of the nucleon, focusing in
particular on the measurement of Generalized Parton Distributions (GPDs)
via exclusive reactions.
The selected candidate will work on the analysis of the data currently
being taken with the CLAS12 detector and a longitudinally polarized
target, with the goal of extracting target-spin asymmetries for deeply
virtual Compton Scattering (DVCS) on the neutron. She/he will also have
the possibility to work on other datasets, reactions, and observables
which may be relevant for the study of GPDs, such as the cross sections
for neutron-DVCS on unpolarized-target CLAS12 data. The participation in
the feasibility studies and in the preparation for the future CLAS12
experiment of DVCS with a transversely polarized proton target is also
expected.
The work will be mainly based in IJCLab, with the possibility of frequent
trips to JLab to take part in data taking and meetings.
A Doctoral Degree in Physics with specialization in experimental nuclear
or particle physics, or related area, is required. A demonstrated
experience in data analysis and good software skills are highly desirable.

information and to apply for the position.
