[Clas_offline] Wikis On CLASWEB

Eugene,
I started this conversation a bit sooner than I originally planned,
precipitated by a request today for a new wiki. In the next few days I will
work through a complete upgrade from a version typical of what is installed
to a more current release. Once that's done, I'll be able to better answer
your question about how easy the upgrade process is.
Here is a list of the wikis that I'm referring to. They run a mix of
MediaWiki versions including 1.5.3, 1.5.7, 1.5.8, 1.6.8 and 1.15.4 .

In addition to the basic upgrade, migration might be further complicated if
there are extensions installed. I just made a quick survey of the installed
wikis and it appears that there are only a couple of extensions installed on
a couple of discrete instances. This is very good news.
