This is a very nice letter. There are just a couple of issues to consider:

* page 2, lines 3-4: The last sentence of the paragraph does not seem to me to fit in with what has just been written. Maybe a new, short paragraph is necessary.

* page 2, lines 29-30: The sentence should read something like "Thus E_T is a most interesting quantity, which we would like to access."

* page 4, figure 2: the data points need to be labelled in a legend, or preferably in the caption.

*page 4, lines 33-34: Please replace "U.K. Engineering and Physical Science Research Council" with "UK Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC)"
