Larry et al.,
I seem to be in the minority regarding the comments that you have
already gotten back, but the first column, which is supposed to
represent your "general" introduction, I found to be quite impenetrable.
So much jargon and buzz words that I cannot imagine anyone having a
clue as to what you are talking about. The key is that you have not
crisply defined what a short range correlation is or a correlated pair.
Also why is studying a SRC interesting or important? I just could not
make any connection with why such "objects" are so important. As Science
us supposed to be a general audience (and not specialists), I suggest
that you give this paper to an advanced graduate student in some other
speciality (astrophysics or condensed matter) and find out if they can
understand it.
Also, the first sentence of the abstract is awkward. You state that
heavier nuclei have more neutrons if I read it at face value. But you
are really trying to say that heavier nuclei have more neutrons than
protons.
Finally, Refs. [27] to [38] are not referenced in the text.
Regards,
Daniel
