A nice paper. I have a few minor commments:

- Figure 1: the diagrams (or the letter/symbol fonts) are possibly too small. I would aim for the font size to be ~the same as the caption font size.

- p4, line 219: "associated to..." -> "associated with..." 

- Figure 4: This is the money plot. However there is quite a lot to compare on one graph. The bands are all predictions of \sigma_u (if I understand correctly), whilst the red curves are predictions for the separated structure functions. One could create two plots, one only showing \sigma_u, together with the theoretical predictions; the second plot would be \sigma_TT and \sigma_LT together with the predictions, in order to emphasise the point you make about these structure functions being of similar size. At any rate, the symbols could be bigger, so that the different quantities can be discerned. Also, if possible, a description of the curves in the figure caption(s) would be a good idea (as well as detail in the text).

- Please also add "the UK's Science and Technology Facilities Council" to the list of funders in the acknowledgments.
