Hand Safety - Your Hands Are Your Most Important Tool
More than 16 million people suffer hand injuries every year, with hand
injuries accounting for a full quarter of all industrial injuries.
Most hand injuries involve a lack of adequate personal protective
equipment, and many injuries involve improper maintenance or improper
use of a tool, including use of unprotected or faulty machinery or
equipment, failure to use guards and kill-switches, and failure to
follow appropriate lock-out procedures. Wearing jewelry, gloves or
loose-fitting clothing around moving parts can also lead to injury.
Check out the full brief for tips on preventing hand injuries.
